When I am not backpacking, in real life I am a Multimedia Graphic Designer for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. I have worked as a graphic artist for over 25 years. It began as a teenager, making custom Winamp skins featuring my favorite basketball players. It then morphed into interactive media and eventually DVD, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray and iTunes designs. From there I decided to give back to my people and have worked for Gila River tribal government and an enterprise of the Tohono O’odham Nation. I have earned a Bachelors degree in Multimedia and Web Design, as well as a Certificate in Social Media Marketing. I have won 5 Native American Journalists Association Awards for layout design and podcasting.
